Privacy Policy

At South Sound Bank, the basis of each customer relationship is trust.  Our customers have chosen to do business with South Sound Bank, and we are obligated to honor that relationship with great care, beginning with the information our customers entrust us with us.  We strongly believe that our customers’ privacy should not be compromised.
 
At South Sound Bank, we believe the confidentiality and protection of customer information is one of our fundamental responsibilities.  Although customer information is critical to providing quality service, we recognize that one of our most important assets is the trust our customers have in us.  Consequently, the safekeeping of customer information is a fundamental priority for South Sound Bank.
 
South Sound Bank will not share and/or sell nonpublic personal information to any unaffiliated third party for marketing purposes.
 
Customer information will only be disclosed to authorized account holders, and only after identification of that account holder has been verified.  Verifying information may include social security number, date of birth, mother’s maiden name, signature, and/or other identifying information.
 
South Sound Bank employees will not share personal or financial customer information with unaffiliated third parties except when legally required or when legally permitted to serve the customer’s interests.  Information will only be disclosed to third parties under the following conditions:

  • Where it is necessary to complete a transaction initiated by the customer.
  • In order to report the existence and condition of an account to companies such as a reputable credit bureau or merchant.
  • In order to comply with government or court orders.
  • If we have the written permission from the account holder.

South Sound Bank will provide certain customer information to unaffiliated third party companies that we hire to provide our bank with operational support.  Examples of this operational support include, but are not limited to, appraisals, title searches, flood certifications, and credit reports.  When South Sound Bank conducts business with third parties; it requires its vendors and suppliers to maintain similar standards of conduct regarding the privacy of personally identifiable customer information provided to them.
 
All South Sound Bank employees are educated on the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy.  They are thoroughly trained to learn and follow our Privacy Policy.  Employees with access to customer information are required to adhere to the Privacy Policy and will only have access to customer information on a need to know basis.
 
 South Sound Bank has invested in security procedures and safeguards in order to insure the confidentiality of its customer’s personal records.  These safeguards include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Data processing security systems
  • “Sensitive” document destruction procedures
  • Disaster recovery plans and procedures
  • Computer back-up storage systems
  • Password and security access limits
  • Secure connection hardware and software (commonly called “firewalls”)
  • Comprehensive insurance coverage
  • Facility security devices
